Before we get into the business of colours and fonts we need to decide on a layout. It’s the underpinning part of a website that pulls everything together.
We’ll work closely with you and build a bespoke layout for your website with intuitive navigation, clear place holders for content and a straightforward flow. Alternatively, if you have already found or decided on your perfect layout, we’ll happily work to integrate the layout for you.
Colour scheme
When you are happy with the layout we need to start thinking about a colour scheme for your website. This task may turn out to be fairly straightforward if you already have a brand identity or corporate colours but if you are still in the deciding phase we can help you make an informed decision to suit you and your organisation.
Typeface
When choosing a colour scheme we’ll also make decisions on the sort of typeface the website will make use of. There are some important factors to consider when selecting the typeface. For instance, if we change the sizing of the font the reader will subconsciously see the text with more importance. It’s a bit like hiding a subliminal message in your site for your readers or customers.
Different colours or font variations for links help users distinguish standard paragraph text with hyperlinks that can be clicked on and you may want to consider making headings considerably larger or bolder to break your pages down into more manageable sections.
