If the weather happens to be poor Drymen is ideally placed for main access to main cities. Glasgow is only 14 miles away with the finest shopping outsite of London, much of which is under cover. There is a multitude of galleries and museums, a science centre, cinemas and various indoor activies, for example, ice-skating, swimming and skiing.
Other cities, offer similair facilities, include Edinburgh, Perth and Stiriling all of which are less than an hour away. Central Scotland has many activities for children on a rainy day, including its own Deep Sea World at Queensferry.
Drymen boasts numerous hotels and pubs which provide a wide range of food from haute cuisine to bar meals and snacks, further a field, Glasgow hosts some of the finest restaurants in Scotland.

There are a number of local courses for the keen golfer to hone their skills. Strathendrick is a 9 hole course and is open to non-members at approx £10 for a round (01360 660695). Buchanan Castle has an 18 hole course at approx £35 per round (01360 660330) and for the more enthusiastic player the world famous Loch Lomond Golf Course and Gleneagles are but a short drive away. They cost approx £175 and £110 respectively.

Loch Lomond, arguably the most beautiful Loch in Scotland is a mere ten minutes away. Here you can take in the breathtaking scenery, relax on its well maintained beaches, sail or take a stroll along the many paths and signposted walks.
Drymen is on The West Highland Way, so why not try walking some of it?! There is a variety of cycle tracks in the area of different standards. Bikes can be hired from Lomond Activities in Drymen (01360 660066).
Fancy taking a boat oot at Loch Lomond, only 3 miles away? Contact MacFarlanes Boat Yard at Balmaha (01360 ....). On a warm day you can swim in the Loch, have picnics and barbeques at Milarochy Bay where boats can also be launched.
Ben Lomond is on our doorstep is a seriously good climb and the less strenuous Conic and Dumbling still offer breathtaking views as does Dumgoyne with the added attration of a Distillery at its foot.

For car journeys there is nothing to beat the Dukes Pass between Aberfoyle and Calander and on the Way you pass David Marshall Lodge which is a forestry centre and take time out for a stroll alongside Loch Katrine which offers some of the most stunning views in Scotland.
